about endellion.me.uk
This unfortunate concoction of webpages grew from a site that was initially only available on the LAN, and later served with no-ip.org. Then the .me.uk became available and I got myself one of these domains. The site has steadily grown, and what's even weirder, it gets quite a lot of visitors.
The google search queries are particularly illuminating (well, sometimes). It appears that there's quite a few computer users out there who find themselves with odd processes running in the task manager. My virus pages haven't got very good instructions on virus removal at all, which is why a new service is born: Personalised Virus Removal. Wherever you are, as long as the computer is still on the internet, I can remove the bugger for you! Contact me to find out what it's going to set you back...

This is me, doing something useful for a change (although this is a few years ago)...
Computers have fascinated me since the mid-eighties, when I bought a Commodore 64. This was followed by a Commodore Amiga 1000, then came a requirement for DOS machines: an Olivetti 286, a 386, a 486, a laptop with a Pentium-133, a Pentium II, and a laptop with a P4. The last few years have seen a rash of computer-related acquisitions: various servers and switches and hubs, and the house is full of network cables, extension leads, incessant fan-noise, and shrieks when the electricity bill comes through. See the Gratuitous Network Pages for more.
I am female, early forties, and holder of a Dutch passport. For the past 20 years I have lived in England, moved about 15 times, almost every time further "up north" but I still haven't made it past the Midlands though. I hope to be stuck in Derby for a long time yet, although I wouldn't mind somewhere warmer. I live in a big house that was built in 1840, with my boyfriend, his rottweiler dog and my five black cats. I hate dogs and he hates cats.
To me, the internet exists so that I can be connected to it, and other websites exist so I can find out why I'm having this or that weird error. Google exists to type these errors into. Sourceforge exists so that I can try out more bloaty bulk to run on my underpowered server, and generate more errors. However, despite trying really hard, I have totally failed to develop the slightest hint of a notion of an interest in stuff like "facebook" or "twitter". I cannot even begin to comprehend how people can spend so much time on those sites without wishing to open a vein. Hell would be a place where the world wide web only has social networking sites.
More musings to be found on my wordpress blog, although as a blogger I just seem to be unable to work up enough of the spirit du jour to enter daily rants or, god forbid, poetry.
I simply adore other people's home pages, especially if they're in true 80's or 90's style. I'm trying to work up a list of links and such.
Now that you've read all this, you may as well drop me a note...
Update, 21/12/2009
I would like to thank everyone who has mailed me during the past few years. Even if you haven't had a response, and this is quite likely, I really appreciate the comments and, especially, the praise. Wonderful. Who'd have thought that there were other people like me out there. Keep the mail coming, though!
